From the long-forgotten Amazon Prime subscription to the more recent unwanted Kindle purchases, we’ve probably all wanted to know how to return a digital order on Amazon.
Be sure that if you’ve got Amazon Prime you also have a student card (even if you’re not a student – see my guide here) to save half on the Prime subscription every year!
Luckily, Amazon has a pretty great return and refund policy when it comes to digital orders (and physical products too!).
Which is why I decided to contact them about the Kindle Unlimited Subscription that I’d bought for our trip to Japan but since forgotten about and never used since.
While this guide will focus on my experience in getting a refund on digital orders from Amazon. This is based on my Kindle Unlimited subscription, you should be able to use it for most other digital products Amazon sell.
Asking Amazon For A Refund For Your Digital Products Via Live Chat
The first thing you’re going to want to do when it comes to getting a refund from Amazon for your digital purchases is to speak to Amazon.
Getting a refund on physically delivered products can be done without chatting to Amazon but subscriptions and digital products are harder.
Finding the contact us can be a little difficult so I’ve found the direct link for you here.
I often use the chat service over emails or phone calls as it’s much more convenient for me personally, but it’s totally up to you how you choose to contact Amazon about your issues.
When first contacting Amazon by chat you’ll be asked to briefly explain your issue. Here you should quickly and concisely explain your issue as I have above.
Be polite but also get to the point, these chat hosts are likely to be going through multiple chats at one time.
They are also likely to be helping hundreds of people a day so don’t need to know everything (that includes how you’re cats doing) – at least not yet. Not until they ask you for more specific information that they might need to help you with your enquiry.
As you can see in a matter of minutes I managed to get the full refund for Amazon for £7.99.
I hope this guide has helped you to understand how to return a digital order on Amazon. In the meantime if you’ve any questions feel free to leave me a comment below and I’ll do my best to get back to you.
