Swagbucks is a great tax-free way to earn income online. It’s been around since 2008 and is pretty popular among the ‘make extra money online’ community.
Whether you’re planning on using Swagbucks to subsidise your income, or just as a reward for doing bits and bobs on the computer while watching your favourite TV shows.
It’s important you understand what Swagbucks are worth to ensure you’re aware of the value you’re getting in return for your time.
How To Check Your Swagbucks Balance
When you earn rewards on Swagbucks they are calculated as ‘SB’ which is an abbreviation of Swagbucks.
You can see your Swagbucks balance online in the top right-hand corner when logged in. As you can see, right now I have 853 Swagbucks.
How Much Are Swagbucks Worth?
Well, you can redeem Swagbucks online for a variety of different things;
Cash / Credit – i.e. Mastercard or PayPal
Gift card – For loads of places i.e. Walmart, Marks & Spencers, Amazon etc.
The value you get from redeeming Swagbucks tends to rely on two different factors;
The number of Swagbucks you’re redeeming
The reward method you’ve chosen
The Value Principle
A £5.00 PayPal credit is currently 800 Swagbucks.
However, a £10.00 PayPal credit is just 1,450 Swagbucks.
Which means if you bought 2x £5.00 PayPal credits you’d spend 1,600 Swagbucks compared to the 1,450 Swagbucks you spend exchanging your Swagbucks for a £10.00 PayPal credit in one transaction.
This ‘wholesale’ style discount generally applies to the majority of retailers. The higher amount of Swagbucks you exchange, the better deal you’re getting.
The Merchant Principle
Once again, you’ll find Swagbucks values vary depending on the merchant issuing the reward you’d like to redeem your Swagbucks for.
For example, a £10 iTunes gift card is just 1,360 Swagbucks, however, a £10 Amazon gift card is 1,440, and a £10 PayPal gift card is 1,450 Swagbucks.
The £10 is still £10, it’s just where you’re spending it that makes a difference to its value.
So, how do we know how much Swagbucks are worth?
Well… It’s personal and really depends on how you plan to redeem your Swagbucks when the time comes. However, if like me you’re a little unsure, it’s probably going to depend on the time of year and my needs at that time etc. then follow this calculation.
How Much Swagbucks Are Worth In The UK
£10 = 1,360 Swagbucks
£10 is the most common denomination for Swagbuck exchanges. At the time of writing, there are 11 different gift cards/credits you can get at the £10 denomination mark, and the average of which is 1,360.
Quick Calculations Based On These Averages
Here’s some quick reference calculations you can refer to prior to taking on an offer so you know what the Swagbucks cash value is.
10 Swagbucks = £0.07
100 Swagbucks = £0.73
1,000 Swagbucks = £7.35
10,000 Swagbucks = £73.52
Rounded down to the nearest whole number.
Sadly, I’ve been unable to do the same calculations for our friends across the pond in the USA and Canada. If you have either of these breakdowns and would like to share them, please drop me a note in the comments. Thanks in advance.
