Three Review

I remember a couple of years ago when the only mobile phone providers we’re Orange and Vodaphone, and the phone of choice was a Blackberry.

Oh how times have changed… Since then we’ve become data hungry, forget text messages it’s all about whatsapp and snapchat. Even my 62-year-old mum is sending selfies to her friends these days and if that’s a case I think we can all agree that we need a mobile phone network that’s going to support us.

Three Review, Is three the best mobile phone network available?

I’ve been using Three as my mobile phone network of choice for over a decade now. I therefore think it’s time I shared with I give you a complete Three review.

Summary

Three is the only UK mobile provider to satisfy the needs of us data hungry customers. It has a fantastic range of packages either payg or sim-only at affordable prices.

So, let’s find out whether Three really is the best mobile phone network in the UK…

The Sim Only Deals

Since I turned 18 I’ve been buying my mobile phone outright and taking advantage of Three’s fantastic sim only deals. This reduced my monthly outgoings and allowed me to upgrade (or downgrade) my phone without being tied to an expensive contract.

In doing so I also save myself around £200 every 18 months. You see you need to think of getting a pay monthly contract with a free phone as buying the phone with interest. As that’s literally what they hide within that pay monthly contract.

Luckily, Three offers some pretty amazing sim only deals. For the people who only use their mobile in emergencies with plans starting at just £9 a month for 1GB of data, 600 minutes and all you can eat texts.

If like me, you don’t have a home phone and choose to use your mobile for everything then Three has you covered. With plans including unlimited data, phone calls and text messages for as little as £35 a month.

Feel At Home

Provided you’re not on Three’s essentials plan you have access to Feel at Home. Which is without a doubt my absolute favourite feature from the Three network.

Feel at Home allows you to use you to call and text the UK and use your data without it costing you a penny more. This is currently available in 42 countries, including the likes of Spain, USA and Australia

Here's a complete list of the feel at home destinations offered by Three

I can’t even begin to tell you what a difference that has made. Allowing me to navigate the streets of New York or ordered and Uber in Orlando.

London Underground

Since late 2015, everyone on the Three network has had access to Wifi on the London Underground at no extra cost.

If you’re a London commuter this is an absolute must. If you maybe just visit London once or twice a year to take in the sights and do some shopping then access to Wifi on the underground can help you meet up with friends or navigate what tube you need to get on next.

Three InTouch

One of the latest features to be released by Three is known as Three InTouch. Three InTouch is designed to allow you the ability of calling and texting even when you have no mobile phone signal by using Wi-Fi. This pretty much makes text messages and phone calls a selling point on sim cards a thing of the past

Giving those who live in remote areas access to full mobile phone capabilities. If this doesn’t make Three the best mobile phone network in the UK I’m not sure what will.

Always Covered

Whilst Three is offering Three InTouch, you shouldn’t need it all too often.

That’s because Three’s 3G network covers a whopping 97% of the UK. (The three percent letting them down tends to be mainly the Scottish Highlands)

Awards

Just a couple of months ago Three was announced by Uswitch as the best pay monthly network of the year. Three also claimed the top spot for best mobile network for roaming and second in a host of other categories including; best value pay monthly, best network coverage and best for data.

Most recently in December 2016, Three won an award for the most recommended mobile phone network provider in a survey run by YouGov.

It’s safe to say that I’m a huge fan of Three and whilst I always believe in switching your providers to get the best deal on the market.

Three is a company I’ve not switched from in over a decade thanks to their amazing service, and competitive price plans. Be sure to let me know in the comments what mobile phone network you’re on and why you love it (or hate it)
